Tearing the rifle down for its initial inspection showed how heavy-duty the internal components are. The backplate buffer and recoil guide rod spring assembly carry excellent tension. It handles the violent blowback of full-power .308 Win loads without a hint of frame battering.

The OD green furniture arrived with some honest field scuffs and storage wear that give it an amazing, authentic Cold War vibe. The internal steel parts were clean, perfectly functional, and completely free of deep corrosion. A true shooter’s history piece.

I inspected the receiver stamping under a bright shop light as soon as I picked it up. The welds attaching the charging handle tube and the rear stock backplate are exceptionally clean and uniform, with none of the sloppy splatter found on older custom builds.
