The open-top receiver design means you can load the magazine directly from the top using standard 10-round SKS stripper clips. It is highly reliable and highly satisfying to do at the range.

I was worried the original surplus folding stock would feel loose or wobbly, but Southern Tactical matched it perfectly to the receiver. When you press the release button and snap it open, it locks up solid with zero play, feeling just like a fixed stock.

The heart of this rifle is the Tortort milled receiver, and the craftsmanship is beautiful. No harsh tooling marks anywhere. The Czech-grey Durabake finish covers everything uniformly and gives it a highly authentic military look.
